Sultry songstress April Rucker has deep music roots stemming from growing up with her musical family in her hometown Nashville, Tennessee. After graduating from Nashville School of the Arts and attending Belmont University she began her music career performing with groups and artists nationally and abroad.

April has been a part of country music star Eric Church’s touring band since 2022. In the past three years she has also toured as backing vocalist for Marcus King, KALEO and Wilder Woods. Boasting a lengthy resume, she has shared stages with many artistsincluding Machine Gun Kelly, Lalah Hathaway, Jelly Roll, Maren Morris, Billy Gibbons, Kevin Costner, and an endless list of chart topping artists across all genres. April has also lent her vocal talents in studio to various recording artists like Nick Jonas, The Smashing Pumpkins, Carrie Underwood, Rival Sons, and Anderson East to name a few.

In addition to a list of TV, Film and Music Videos she’s been featured on screen recently in the BET movie Lethal Legacy also appearing on programs like Ellen, Howard Stern, Late Night with Seth Meyers, CMA’s, CBS Saturday Morning, Country People’s Choice Awards, and more.

Though April has been a full time backing vocalist for over a decade she’s commands stages whenever she steps out as a lead performer wowing crowds with her infectious energy, stage presence and power. Sharing stages with other artist allows her to be a versatileartist in her own right. In addition to her powerful vocals she evokes a smooth, seductive style accompanied by her sweet sopranovoice filled with heart-wrenching emotion which lulls partakers into a world of pure tranquility.

As a solo artist her debut release “Here I Stand” earned her a Nashville Music Award for “Urban Recording of the Year” in 2009– an honor shared amongst major artists Taylor Swift and Kings of Leon in their respective genres. In 2010 she was awarded “Best R&B Performer” in Nashville Independent Music Awards and received another NIMA for “Best R&B Female” in 2011.
